2013 Winter Pittsburgh Events Should Include Ice Skating at The Rink at PPG Place

With winter rolling into western Pennsylvania, outdoor enthusiast should start sharpening their skates to prepare for the annual ice skating extravaganza at The Rink at PPG Place.  There is no better outdoor winter activity in Pittsburgh than ice skating in the middle of Downtown in the shadows of the famed spires of PPG Place. Although Pittsburgh boasts many fine local establishments for skating, The Rink at PPG Place is considered by many to be the "King." The ice opens during Pittsburgh's Annual Light-Up-Night in November and closes in February. During the skating season the venue keeps regular hours and hosts a number of Pittsburgh events which include:
  • Mascot Skate
    • Saturday, November 23    1p-3p
    • Join more than 30 area mascots in a special holiday skating party at The Rink
  • Skate with Santa and Star100.7 with Bubba
    • Saturday, December 7, 14, 21      2p-4p
  • Student ID Nights (January-Close)
  • Tuesday Family Nights (January – Close)
